A Cape Near the Village Harmoniously Combines New England Tradition with Modern Convenience
There’s a wonderful harmony that happens when a home suits the site. That’s the case with the Warren House, built as a new home for two sisters who love Vermont’s Mad River Valley.

Building for a Special Village
The picture-postcard village of Warren, Vermont has long welcomed people who love natural beauty and community on a small scale. When our clients purchased a lot close to the village, they wanted a home that would blend with its architecture and small-town feel. We were happy to oblige.

Starting with History
The design for the Warren Cape was inspired by photos of homes in the area, with support by a builder known for his historic restoration work. The build was designed to allow each sister their own private space, along with common rooms where they could enjoy each other’s company and welcome friends.

Where Spacious Meets Comfortable
A big living space in the downstairs includes fireplace, a kitchen with a den area off it, and a gas fired woodstove for comfort. A covered porch off the living room gives access to Vermont’s outdoors, and a mud room allows people to leave the weather at the door. A large fenced-in yard provides space for picnic and a play area for the family dog.
Our clients are happy with their new home, where they can seek solitude, sit out a snowstorm by the woodstove, and welcome friends for Warren’s renowned Fourth of July celebration.
