We designed and built this contemporary farmhouse for a retiring couple who wanted their home to be a real connection to the landscape and a place of comfort for themselves and their guests.
Single Floor Living with a Farmhouse Feel
Our clients decided to put the focus on the convenience and security of single-floor living. An open floor plan for the living room, kitchen, and dining room created an expansive feel, and a small second floor with two guest rooms and a bath gives space for family and friends who visit. The attached garage and walk out basement make access easy in inclement weather.
An Organic Connection to the Outdoors
Perhaps the best feature of this home is the way it connects to the outdoors. The house features a sunroom for sitting in the cooler weather that attaches to an outdoor stone patio with retractable awning. Both spaces offer a relaxing view of a meadow and apple orchard.
